U12s reach WEMBLEY (again)

Congratulations to the Howard of Effingham Year 7 team who have reached the Final of the National Schools Rugby League Competition today with a 20-10 win over a school from St Helens.

Despite a five hour coach journey to the semi final in Leeds they came back from being 10-0 down at half-time.

The majority of the team are Eagles U12s so we are all very proud of this fantastic achievement - none of them had even played rugby league at the start of the season.  It just goes to show that talent is TALENT whichever form of the game is being played.

The Final is at Wembley Stadium before the Challenge Cup Final in August.

Rob Allan Match a Great Success

The 2012 Rob Allan Memorial Match took place on Saturday, 28 April 2012 in wet and muddy conditions. The match, which was watched by many spectators who endured the horrible conditions, was won by the Senior XV - reversing last seasons result.  The U18s played with their usual determination and gusto, but could not overcome a large Senior squad that had the luxury of bringing on fresh players throughout the game.  Heny's pictures can be found here.

The match was preceded by a great lunch provided by Sue Crabb and a BBQ and free bar followed the game.

Well done to all those who participated in the day!

I would like to thank all the supporters for the time and effort put in throughout the season, for both the home and away matches and across all teams; it has been greatly appreciated by all the players, management and coaches.  The teams have been boosted by the dedication and enthusiasm of your support. Preparation is now underway for next season, our aim is to provide you with entertaining rugby and more wins. Have a great summer

Surrey B - Tough going for our boys

Well done to all Eagles who presented the club at the Surrey B Minis Festival last weekend, particulary the U8s who came away with the Plate after beating a strong Whitgifts side.

U7. Lost 3 group matches 
U8. Won the Plate beating Old Whitgiftians 
U9. Won 1 and lost 2 group matches 
U10. Lost in cup semi to Battersea 
U11. Lost Plate Final to Old Emanuel
