Storming Comeback for the Eagles

Eagles 31 – 7 Chobham B

Apologies that this is not a proper match report - I was otherwise employed at the U16 game and unfortunately saw only glimpses of the U17 2nd XV game.

On a landmark day when all 6 Eagles junior teams that played at KG5 journeyed home with wins under their belts, the U17 2nd XV did their part with a 31-7 win over a very good Chobham B unit.

In a genuine game of two halves, Eagles soaked up relentless Chobham B pressure to reach the haven of 0-0 at half time.

So many wins for both Eagles U17 sides in the last two seasons have been bulit on dogged defence in the first period of play and so it transpired once again.

The first move of the second half brought an Eagles try which proved to be the first of five to Chobham B's reply of one.

This was a terrific performance given the quality of the opposition and bodes well for what should be a classic season finale next Sunday as Eagles travel to Old Alleynians to decide which of them will take second spot in Surrey League 3.
