U15 Effingham - Awards Evening

The 2008 Under 15 Awards Evening took place on Friday May 9th in the club bar. As is usual for the 1992-93 age group this was a lively and good humoured affair but this year there was more to celebrate than perhaps any year in the squad's history.

First XV are Surrey Div 2 champions and Second XV are promoted from Surrey Div 4 as runners-up, between them losing only one league match (narrowly) all season. Much deserved praise was to be bestowed on the squad by club chairman Nigel Maycock and junior chair John Coles at the annual dinner dance the following evening.

Short presentations were given by Peter Jackson, Keith Mellor, Nick Crabtree, Keith Gamble and captain Stephen Fort.

Every registered player was presented with a memento of a truly great season and the whole evening rounded off with rendition of the tour song "Take It Easy" by who else but The Eagles.
